About Us
Our Story
The Museum at Prairiefire’s mission is to open the door for bright futures by providing access to unique STEAM education opportunities for all. The Museum At Prairiefire was founded in 2010 through a one-of-a-kind collaboration with the American Museum of Natural History. The Museum at Prairiefire provides access for all to understand and celebrate natural history and science in our region and around the world. The Museum at Prairiefire’s resources and mission make it the perfect home for Kansas City’s first museum-based preschool, The STEAM Academy.
Our Mission
We understand that every child develops and grows differently. At the STEAM Academy we help students develop the skills necessary to gain confidence and the ability to keep on growing. We bring knowledge to your student at their level, whether that means the content, the resources, or the delivery of the lesson.
Our Values
Our mission is to provide children with the tools for a successful future by inspiring and empowering them to contribute, collaborate, and innovate in order to persevere through challenges and thrive.
